Asking for a correction

If you think an article is wrong, in particular about your organisation or business, please tell us. It helps to include:

  1. the address (link) of the article;
  2. the sentence, figure or table row you think is wrong;
  3. what you believe is correct, with a link to the published record or another source if you have one.

A person reads every request. We check it against the source records. If the article is wrong, we correct it and show the date of the update on the page, or we retract it. A retracted article stays at the same address with a notice explaining why.

Many errors start in the source data. Federal agencies report their own contract records, and USAspending.gov publishes them as reported. If a record is itself wrong, the agency that reported it can correct it, and the next data update will include the fix.
